Jeanette Spence - FOAtography

I have always appreciated beauty and seek to find it wherever I go. As a child, I found it most frequently in nature. I see beauty in most unexpected places. As a healing artist, I have integrated my love of beauty in all my relationships, including nursing. I urge my clients and patients to practice Art as one of many effective adjunctive healing modalities.

The following are Healing Arts programs I have participated in:

In 2008 I received my Doctorate in Wisdom Studies from Wisdom University. A major component of my doctorate degree in Wisdom Spirituality incorporates Art as Mysticism, honoring the contemporary mystic in all of us and our ability to connect to the divine through ordinary life experiences, often facilitated by engagement with art.

In 2006, I experienced a serious injury. When traditional bio-medical modalities were not effective, I was able to control and eliminate pain through acupuncture treatments. I also found art to be a profound healing force for me during this time, and soon thereafter, became interested in the patterns of beauty I saw on rusted metal. I began photographing these images, and this found-object art has grown into a new for-benefit business, FOAtography. I have also founded Compassionate Care, an organization whose mission is to provide alternative and complementary care to individuals who do not have resources to fund these caring treatments. Proceeds from my artwork, and other partnered artists, will help to support Compassionate Care and its mission.
